General – Was
hatched in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where I grew up with my sister
and parents (and a great Cocker Spaniel). Fledged from the nest
in 1988 to pursue a degree in ornithology, spiders, insects and
other creepy crawlies (biology). After graduating from UW-Oshkosh
with a B.S. in Biology and minor in Chemistry, I left for graduate
school at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. When I realized
long term research wasn't my calling, I returned to Wisconsin in
pursuit of a Fine Art degree (go figure). Graduated with a BFA
(Graphic Design emphasis) in 1998 and started working at Media
Solutions in April of that year. The work here is very diverse,
and it allows me to combine my biology and art degrees. I enjoy
the challenges of visual communication and photography while also
getting a sneak peak at some great research before it is published.
Education – BS in
Biology and Chemistry Minor (UW-Oshkosh)
BFA, Graphic Design emphasis (UW-Stout) - Summa Cum Laude
One year of Graduate School at LSU
Outside Interests –
Anything that gets me outside and close to all that is natural
and wild. Some specific interests include biking, birdwatching,
and grooming horses.
Personal – Back when
I was 14, I remember sitting in a waiting room here at the hospital
while gazing over the marsh thinking that I would someday be teaching
ornithology in a warmer climate. 14 years later, I find myself 4
floors down from that waiting room with a BFA degree and a career
in Graphic Design. Guess it goes to show, "Never say Never."
